A project with an industrial-contemporary style in a setting like Carmel, Indianapolis, surrounded by the scenic landscape, where the Nova glass pivot door becomes an essential element of the villa, showing all its charm to every visitor who happens to observe it.
This particular suburban home in Carmel, Indiana, takes inspiration from the typical mountain houses of the north of the United States but adds a contemporary and industrial touch. The architect and designer Gary Nance decided to make the immense surrounding landscape the undisputed protagonist of this residence, by letting it enter overwhelmingly through the imposing windows characterizing it.
The entrance, a large glass façade featuring a Nova glass safety door, is the focal point from which every visitor is attracted, thanks to the gaze that stretches beyond the interior of the house and reaches the spectacular view of the outdoor green oasis with swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and an 18-hole golf course designed by Pete Dye.
A detail that catches the eye and gives character to the style of the residence is the contrast among the textures: the modern metal of the Nova pivoting door contrasts with the fully hand-hewn recycled wooden beams. The glazed security door not only ensures high security standards, but also reduces heat loss from the living structure; the thermal glass is also bullet and mace-proof.
The effect obtained is that of a simultaneous sensation of warmth and freshness, making the façade of the house an exhibition piece.
