SYNUA, Armoured Pivot Door
The forometric redistribution and internal partitioning of the villa commissioned to arch. Filippo Caprioglio made it possible to reorganise spaces that are better suited to the needs and functionality of contemporary daily living: this is why the choice fell on Synua, the armoured door for large dimensions with vertical pivoting operation and coplanar to the wall.
The project envisages the extension and the photometric recomposition of all four façades without altering the building’s current outline except for the south elevation, where an extrusion of the façade is conceived by means of a window frame spread over three levels which, however, is within the overhang limits of the existing terrace and consequent covered area. The project envisaged, also following the changed internal distribution, the rearrangement and recomposition of the building units while maintaining their typology, recomposing through formal and compositional cleanliness the substantial appearance of the building.
The client’s desire for a “sustainable” construction that would guarantee high standards of living comfort, oriented the design choices towards prefabrication technology in wood to guarantee quality parameters which, combined with the technological plant applications, lead to the highest levels of energy saving, in addition to the advantages of a light structure that does not impose any burden on the foundations.
