SYNUA, Armoured Pivot Door
For this English villa, an entrance with the Synua door with an external cor-ten steel-clad part inserted on a glazing and portal, both made by the client, was chosen. The location of the house ensures natural lighting due to the large windows that overcome the barriers between the interior and exterior landscape. It was necessary to find a door that would enhance this aspect without sacrificing the intrinsic sense of protection and security.
A Synua door from Oikos was all that the client asked for as it not only made him feel protected and secure, but also guaranteed an extraordinary visual and aesthetic impact. The energy that flows from the architecture of this villa can be felt room after room.
Sevendials is located in the small village of Mottram St Andrew, in the North West of England. Nestled in the green of a hillside, the villa is surrounded by a private garden where, amidst the oaks and birches, there is a wonderful view of the county of Cheshire, North Wales.
The L-shaped plan of the villa seems to be created to embrace the sunset and the roof, which in turn becomes a terrace, offers the possibility to relax at any time. The sleeping quarters are structured on two levels offering more than 600m2 of floor space that also includes a splendid guest suite.
A large cantilevered zinc porch runs the entire length of the structure, providing protection from sunlight in the summer months, while at the same time allowing low winter rays to penetrate undisturbed. Light and nature flow in and out of the large windows at will, breathing life into every object and bringing the landscape into the home.
